Fiji NSW Cup Bid Media: Manly Sea Eagles and Fiji Bati Fabian Goodall Plays for His Country

Fiji Bati’s Fabian Goodall, who is yet to debut in the NRL for Manly Sea Eagles, has put his ‘heart on his wrist’ and put in a storming performance the Sea Eagles Reserve Grade (NSW Cup – NRL tier two) trial on Saturday, February 20 - with inspiration coming from playing for his country as Cyclone Winston approached and bear down on the Fiji Islands.
Branding a ‘Fiji’ wrist band, the hulking centre or winger Goodall played for his country, alongside Bati and fellow Sea Eagles NRL contracted back Brayden Wiliame and put in an inspired and rampaging performance to score two tries against the Western Suburbs Devils (Illawarra competition). He was also selected in the Sea Eagles NRL Auckland Nines team, but with the Sea Eagles fielding a very strong NRL trial team against Queensland Cup (NRL tier two competition) champions Ipswich Jets, who fielded former Bati and Jets star Nemani Valekapa.

Fabian Goodall stated via his Instagram account “Tonight’s game (is) for the motherland, family and friends, be safe, #prayforfiji”.
The NSW Cup competition is a second tier competition under the NRL that fields a host on NRL contracted players for each reserve grade or feeder clubs, including seven NRL branded clubs (also included NZ Warriors), one NRL controlled team and five independent clubs partnered with NRL clubs. The Fiji NSW Cup Bid lead by Fijian Petero Civoniceva is hopeful of joining the NSWRL competition 2017, in playing home games with a full-time fully Fijian playing squad based out of Fiji’s National Stadium in Suva.
