PNG Hunters set for Round Two Intrust Super Cup clash against Wynnum Manly Seagulls

The PNG SP Hunters are set for round two Intrust Super Cup  clash against Wynnum Manly Seagulls this afternoon. The Hunters have not beaten the Seagulls at  BMD Kougari Oval and are determined to break the hoodoo. 

Coach Michael Marum has made several changes after the regular halfback Atte Bino and winger Adex Wera were banned for one game each after they were found guilty in a faul play by the QLD Cup judiciary. 

Ase brothers will partner in the halves. Watson Boas will play halfback while his elder brother Ase Boas will play at five-eight. Both go as far back as playing for the Royals club in Kokopo and while Ase was playing for the Kumuls against the Fiji Bati, Watson was playing for the Prime Minister’s XIII where he and current Hunters rookies Justin Olam scored the only tries for the PNG side.

Marum while acknowledging both brothers have already played alongside each other is sticking to his one game at a time method.

"We just want to compete all throughout the game and the result will come.

"It’s only round 2 and all teams are slowly finding their form, debutants did well in first game and it will be a challenge for them to back it up," Marum said.

Justin Olam shifts to the wing replacing the suspended Adex Wera, while Philemon Kimisive bides his time as 18th man.

Back-rowers Brandy Peter and Tuvi Lepan have been named on an extended bench, with Southern Highlander Peter returning from a left wrist injury and East New Briton Lepan hoping to get his first game under his belt.
