Digicel supports Men of Honor Awards 2016

Digicel PNG Foundation was presented with K20,000 from Digicel PNG for the support of this year’s Men of Honour Award Gala Night to be held on 15 April at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex.
Digicel PNG is the category sponsor of the Men of Honour Community Leadership
Award.
The category award celebrates community fathers who lead by example to show and
accept pardon in the face of adversity. The award recognizes men who are protectors and inspire a safer future, especially for children.
Digicel PNG CEO Maurice McCarthy said Digicel was proud to support the category, which recognizes men who demonstrate integrity and ethics, and foster and develop talent within their families and their community.
“We hope that this campaign will encourage a culture of mutual respect and create positive opportunities for people.”
Last year’s winner of the category Jimmy Drekore went on to win the overall Man of Honour award. Jimmy continues his work with the Simbu Children’s Foundation to provide solutions for Simbu children in need of medical assistance and continues his work with the Simbu Writers Association to address education and literacy issues.
Sarah Haoda Todd is the judge for the Community Leadership category and is now in the final stages of her selection.
The Foundation has established The Men of Honour campaign to identify ordinary men who are doing extraordinary activities that contribute to the suppression of violence in homes and communities within the country.
