Woman stabbed at Gordons Bus stop

Bag snatching and pick pocketing are two common petty crimes that happen frequently at the Gordons Market and Bus Stop.
A similar incident took place yesterday morning when thugs at the Gordons Bus Stop stabbed a woman with a knife in an attempt to snatch her bag.
A PMV bus operator who witnessed the incident came to the woman’s rescue and chased the thugs into the Gordons Police Barracks, however they regrouped and came back in numbers attacking the public as well as the PMV operators.
NCD Superintendent for Operations Brian Kombe who reported to the incident said the situation got out of hand and the police had to fire warning shots to disperse the crowd.
The situation is currently under control following the intervention of police with no other casualties reported.
Meanwhile, this newsroom is yet to get a respond from the Gordons Police Station Commander and those in authority on their efforts in addressing the ongoing issue of Pick Pocketing and Bag Snatching at Gordons. PNGFM/ PNG Toay
