PANGU to challenge proposed election fee increase

The PANGU Pati has announced that it will go to court, to challenge proposed changes to increase election nomination fees if it becomes law.

Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill introduced the bill to increase nomination fees for open and regional seats in Parliament last week, which has successfully gone through its first and second readings, with a majority vote.
But PANGU Pati, and Deputy Opposition Leader, Sam Basil, is appealing to prospecting candidates to help contribute money for them to fight a possible case.
