Chief OC sworn in

Recently appointed Chief Ombudsman Michael Dick was sworn into office at Government House in Port Moresby on Thursday

Governor General Bob Dadae who was also appointed recently conducted the ceremony.

A recital of the declaration of Loyalty and office was recited by Mr Dick before his swearing in.

The new Chief Ombudsman said his main task is to ensure the Office of the Ombudsman Commission lives up to its purpose, as a Constitutional Office.

Mr Dick was appointed acting Chief Ombudsman last year, and his permanent appointment now is for a term of 6 years or until reaching retirement age of 55 years.
