Tonga’s princess delivers Letter of Credentials to PNG's G-G

HER Royal Highness Princess Angelika Tu’kuaho, High commissioner-designate of the kingdom of Tonga to Papua New Guinea presented her letter of credentials to Governor-General Bob Dadae yesterday at Government House.

Mr Dadae accepted, on behalf of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the Government and the People of Papua New Guinea, the Letter of Credence by which His Majesty King Tupou VI, appointed as High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Tonga to Papua New Guinea, and also the Letter of Recall of your predecessor.

"On that note, I welcome you to Papua New Guinea.

"In response, I convey through you, our sincere best wishes to His Majesty, King Tupou VI of Tonga, with continued good health and for peace and prosperity to the Kingdom and people of Tonga," Mr Dadae said.

"We are indeed very grateful to receive you, and look forward to enhancing and furthering the already good bilateral relations that exist between Papua New Guinea and the Kingdom of Tonga, since establishing diplomatic ties thirty six years ago.

"In particular, I acknowledge the historic ties with the early Tongan missionaries in spreading the Gospel in Papua New Guinea.

"To conclude, let me assure you that the Government of Papua New Guinea stands ready, to accord you the necessary support and assistance you may require during your tour of duty in advancing Tonga and Papua New Guinea Relations.

"I hope that you will find your tour of duty to Papua New Guinea personally rewarding and fulfilling," Mr Dadae told Her Royal Highness Princess Agelika Tu’kuaho upon receiving her Letter of Credentials at Government House yesterday. Post Courier/ PNG Today
