The agreement means that Click TV viewers will now see EMTV on Click TV’s satellite platform nationwide. New viewers in remote parts of the country can access EMTV on Click TV’s one metre satellite dish.
EMTV now on ClickTV Platform
EMTV joins NBC and Click TV’s own PNG TV to be three free channels available to all viewers of Click TV.
“The carriage of EMTV on Click TV marks a significant milestone for all operators. It means that NBC and EMTV are available together nationwide on a DTH service for the very first time. It’s an exciting achievement for all broadcasters in PNG," Click TV’s Managing Director Richard Broadbridge said.
EMTV has provided Click TV the approval to carry the channel on the Click TV platform, allowing many viewers live in areas outside normal transmission towers to access EMTV. This means that prior to the 2017 General Election viewers in all provinces can have access to important information leading to the vote and count.
“We are excited about the partnership, because everyone in PNG
should have the right to access television services, especially free-to-air channels such as EMTV," said Matthew Park, CEO of EMTV.
“It also means the TV industry in PNG is growing and this is extremely exciting for viewers, broadcasters and the nation as a whole”.
To mar the occasion Click TV has announced a massive reduction in their hardware price with their satellite kits to sell through resellers
“We have resellers in most provinces and invite others to join in our reseller programme," Broadbridge added.
The roll out of dishes will mean more viewers for EMTV and NBC and provide a platform for easier and faster subscription payments for Click TV’s pay channels.
Click TV is a PNG based broadcaster with both digital terrestrial and digital satellite services. The broadcaster has both free and pay channels on both platforms. Click TV is available in most provinces.
The company is based at Telikom 4 Mile under FM00. It’s major
resellers are Seeto Kui, Tolec, Anitua Hardware, LoticBige in Kiunga, Daltron, Manaka Stationary in Goroka (GSOL) and Rural and Power Supplies in Hagen.
