Task Force Sweep Team finally disbanded

The Investigative Task Force Sweep Team has finally succumbed to its disbanding.
Its last hope of survival has been dashed with Chairman Sam Koim withdrawing its Supreme Court appeal today.
A three men bench accepted the withdrawal this morning giving effect to the permanent closure of the office.
An application to withdraw proceedings was heard this morning with conditions that investigation files be given to relevant authorities for safe keeping.
Top among Mr Koim's concern is the Paraka investigation files.
The court accepted the application to withdraw but said that all files will be given to the interim Anti Corruption Office to be headed by retired judge Justice Graham Ellis.
“I've actually asked can court allow us to allow us to transfer the files to the respective agencies but in the wisdom of the court, they refused this,” Mr Koim said.
Lawyer representing the National Executive Council Tiffany Twivey said finally the matter has been put to rest.
"It's been a long battle but justice has prevailed and the matter is now at an end,” Ms Twivey said. NBC News/ PNG Today
