Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Foo and senior management team outlined the airline’s future developments including new products available to make travel easier, on time performance, increase frequencies, upgrade and route expansions.
“We are connecting Asia, Australia, PNG and the Pacific. We recently launched services to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and Townsville, we should commence services to Shanghai, China before the end of the year. We have also increased frequencies to Townsville, Cairns, Singapore, FSM, Manila, Port Villa and Honiara.”
“ We are upgrading seats on our boeing fleet and enhanced feature on the Fokker 70/100 aircraft to ensure comfort and convenience for our passengers.”
Mr Foo also spoke to the business community about safety compliance as well as challenges faced by the airline.
Air Niugini arranges regular meetings with the business communities of PNG to allow opportunity for the Airline Management to hear directly from business communities and customers on their thoughts, opinions and experience relating to ANG’s operations.
Mr. Foo said, “We welcome feedback from our customers as this helps Air Niugini Serve our customers better.”
“ For Lae passengers, we have 38 flights per week with connections to and from 43 international destinations.”
The President of the Lae Chamber of Commerce, Alan McLay said that whilst the increase in flights between Lae & Port Moresby makes onward movement to Australian Ports easier to access, Lae Businesses still look forward to the day when International flights will take off from NADZAB, commencing with Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane.
