Hela boxes disputed

Thirty two ballot boxes from Hela regional seat are under police custody after they were disputed.

Hela regional candidate Doctor Hewali Hamiya filed an urgent application in the National Court yesterday seeking orders to stop counting these boxes.

Doctor Hamiya and other regional candidates are claiming they were filled out elsewhere and brought in for counting.
He claimed further that they are not from gazetted polling locations.
The 32 disputed ballot boxes for the Hela regional are from Koroba Lake Kopiago electorate in the province.

Hela regional seat has 258 ballot boxes in total.
The matter will return next Monday for mention.
