Datec awarded contract for Fiji elections software

At the signing of the contract at the Fiji Elections Office headquarters in Suva today, Datec Chief Executive Officer, Ateen Kumar said the awarding of the project was significant as it proved the expertise, capability, and integrity of his team.

Datec had previously worked on similar systems for the Fiji Elections Office in 2006 and 2014.

Details of the project, such as the cost, the number of companies bidding, and identities of the individual developers could not be released due to a confidentiality agreement between the two parties.

The Results Management System is expected to collate and record voting counts of the 2018 Elections and publish the results on the FEO website and other systems.

The software will take three months to complete, after which all the source codes would be handed to the FEO for safe-keeping....
