Boas in, Amean out as Hunters set for season opener against Ipswich Jets

Hunters fullback Stargroth Amean omitted due to injuries
Captain Ase Boas returns to lead the SP Hunters in round 1 of the 2018 Intrust Super Cup competition against Ipswich Jets at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby at
3pm on Sunday.

Stargroth Amean has been omitted due to injury. Utility back Adex Wera moves to fullback while Nixon Put partners Willie Minoga in the centres.

John Andy makes his debut as Hunter No. 54 when he wears the No. 12 jersey. Apart from Sailas Gahuna, new faces Charlie Simon, McKenzie Yei, Edene Gabbie, Dilbert Isaac, Brendon Gotruna and Patrick Morea have been included on the extended bench.

The squad will be finalised on Saturday afternoon after the Captains Run at 3pm at the NFS.

Meanwhile, the SP Hunters players have been divided into four groups and will visit Koroboro International, Gordons International, St Peters PS at Erima and Holy Rosary school at 6 Mile today (Wednesday) to promote Education week activities. The visits will be between 10.30am and 12noon and the players will be involved in reading as well giving some rugby league skills. The message they will deliver is “Education is Important for all”.
