Opposition yet to move Vote of No Confidence against Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.

The October - November Parliament session started this afternoon but the well anticipated Vote of No Confidence was not mentioned during the session.  Opposition is yet to move a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.  Deputy speaker Aide Ganasi was led into parliament Chamber by the clerk but suspended the sitting until the ringing of the bell due to lack of quorum.

Several MPs and ministers were seen within the vicinity of the parliament house but none failed to turn up in the chamber to get the session underway until around 2.30pm when most government MPs started arriving.

The session  started  with a heated debate between the Opposition Leader Don Polye and the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

Mr Polye asked a series of questions to the prime minister regarding the government's decision to mortgage landowners equity of 4.22% to obtain a loan of K2.5 billion sovereign bond saying this will make landowners suffer, but the PM responded saying that this was not the case as the government is getting a loan only to buy foreign reserves for the country and this will not affect landowners equity at all.

This then led to heated debate and pointing of fingers between the two leaders but the Deputy Speaker Aide Ganasi took control of the situation.

More attacks came to the PM as Deputy Opposition Leader Sam Basil asked him regarding a statement he (Prime Minister) made in his press conference yesterday stating that certain ministers were made millionaires over night of which Basil asked O’Neill to name but the PM shut him off saying this was just childish arguments brought onto the floor of parliament.

However, the much anticipated Vote of No Confident was not even brought up by the opposition today.

The Deputy Speaker suspended Parliament to 10:00 am tomorrow.
