FORMER PNGDF COMMANDER FRANCIS AGWI TAKES HIGH COMMISSIONER'S POST

Retired Defence Force Commander Brigadier-General, Francis Agwi, was commissioned as P-N-G's new High Commissioner to New Zealand, in Port Moresby, this week.
Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister, Rimbink Pato, commissioned Mr. Agwi, before New Zealand's High Commissioner to P-N-G, Tony Fautua and his wife, Acting Foreign Affairs Secretary, William Dihm, former Defence Commander, Jerry Singirok, Defence Secretary, John Potti, family and friends.
Mr. Agwi's appointment fills the vacancy left by William Dihm, after his recalling to Port Moresby, to head the Foreign Affairs Department.
The former Defence Commander thanked the Government for his appointment, saying he will do his best to serve P-N-G in New Zealand.
Both P-N-G and New Zealand, forging diplomatic ties since 1975.
