Air Niugini temporarily suspends flights to Popondetta

Link PNG has temporarily suspended all flights to Girua airport, Popondetta due to heavy rains and floods last night that caused damage to several bridges connecting Popondetta town and the airport.
Flights PX 856/857 today(Thursday 04th Feb) were cancelled as passengers and airline employees had difficulty having access to the airport.
Link PNG is closely monitoring the situation and will advise as to when the Popondetta flights should resume.
Link PNG operates daily flights to Popondetta with twice daily services on Mondays and Fridays. It is a subsidiary company of Air Niugini Limited.
