APEC Transport meeting underway in Port Moresby

The 42nd APEC Transportation and Working Group Meeting is underway in Port Moresby.

This is the fourth APEC meeting hosted by PNG in preparation for the 2018 Leaders Summit.

PNG's Transport Secretary Roy Mumu formally opened the four-day meeting this afternoon at the Waigani Conventional Centre.

"In November 2014 we hosted the Energy Working Group,

2015 we hosted back to back Policy Partnership and Women Economy and the high-level meeting on Human Resource Development Capacity building, and in May, Forest Ministers meeting was held in Port Moresby and now the Transport Working Group. I am honoured on behalf of my government and the country as we play host to this meeting.I know the agenda for the different expert groups that will be held in the next few days will be exciting. I look forward to learning from other economy’s experiences and best international practices,”

The meeting ends on Thursday.
