PNG Hunters beat South Logan Magpies 22 - 20

The SP PNG Hunters have registered three wins in a row after beating South Logan Magpies in a close game  at   the Davis Park in Brisbane  this afternoon.

The Hunters opened the score through fullback Stargroth Amean. Captain Boas added the extras  to put his team ahead with  6 -0 lead.  The Magpies replied with a unconverted try to trail 6 - 4.

The visitors extended the lead after Paul Wawa on debut scored at the right corner. Boas added the extras  to take the lead to 12 -4.  The home side regrouped and replied with a converted try through  Mathew Minto to trail 12 - 10 into half-time.

The second half began with Hunters  dominance in defence and in attack. Center Willie Minoga crossed the line twice to put the Hunters comfortably ahead  with 22 - 10 lead .

The Magpies found their rhythm late in the match and found the try line in the 70th minute.

Doyle’s conversion from the sideline was a blinder sailing through to put them within a converted try of leveling up. Another try from Cameron Booth closed the gap to 22 - 20.   Dolye failed to square the score after his kick went astray and the Hunters won the game 22  - 20 on full time.
