Chairman of Task Force Sweep Team Sam Koim has no arresting Powers
The Chairman of Task Force Sweep Team Sam Koim was bluntly told today that his team had no powers to arrest people.
PM Peter O’Neill’s Lawyer Tiffanny Nongor mentioned this in the National Court in light of yesterday’s attempt by police to arrest the PM.
Koim hit back by telling the court that O’Neill previously announced that Task Force Sweep had the powers to arrest people, and now that the PM himself is being implicated, he is saying something else.
Meanwhile the National Court after lunch today has adjourned the stay application by the Prime Minister for his arrest to tomorrow.
The matter was adjourned to tomorrow at 9.30 to give time to lawyers for the Prime
Minister to file a response to an affidavit file by Sam Koim on behalf of the
Task Force Sweep and police.
