Nandex warns powerhouse promotion of hosting international fight in PNG
Papua New Guinea Kick Boxing Association has warned the Power House Promotion for the hosting the international fight.President of the PNG kickboxing Association and CEO of KB-1 promotions Stanley Nandex has called on the promoter and organizing committee of Powerhouse to put on hold of hosting the international fight.
Nandex said the event is not because Powerhouse promotion does not have legal authority to sanctioned or promote and international shows or event but as far as PNGBBA and KB-1 is concern.
He stated that there was no consultation with the association or not proper procedures and protocols to bring in such international event without the knowledge of PNGKBA.
“Are we looking at promoting the fight or to gain international recognition, promotion or for personal gain, but the issue is the safety of the fighters,” Nandex said as he raised concerns.
Stanley Nandex stated that he was thankful to the Opposition leader Belden Namah for the funding to support the fight but there was no courtesy to contact the association for further information and clearance given by the PNGKBA for such a huge funding support toward the event.
General Secretary of the PNGKBA Eddie Kavina also express disappointment that the media has not reached the association to confirm any media article about this fight promotion and it has confused and mislead our sponsors, members and the public.
Nandex also said that fighting Jarko Jusilca from Finland who is current world champion in the super welter weight division is unreal and impossible as fighter Rickson Yamo fought against him for world title early this year and lost.
“He cannot fight for a rematch or any other title because Rickson must hold a championship under any division to fight a world champion in a promotion fight,” Nandex said.
He added that to my knowledge as President of PNGKBA this fight is unofficial because the match making is not correct as the current champions are Jeffery Daka and Jonathan Duhu who both hold intercontinental title and Rickson Yamo should fight either of them to qualify for a rematch against Jarko Jusilca.
Nandex was not happy to see any of the junior members of the association is bypassing the protocols which are not part of our discipline and code of conduct.
Meantime Eddie Kavina appealed to the members of PNGKBA to respect Stanley Nandex for what he has done for the country and the members should not question his integrity by doing things without his concern or PNGKBA’s approvals.
The appeal was that all the members from the all around the country to work closely with the National Federation for the good of our sporting Kickboxing code to move to high level.
The members to the Kickboxing federation across the country were warned that they should put their personal differences aside and work towards developing our youths through the kickboxing sport in the country.
