Supreme Court adjourns PM’s appeal application to next week
The Supreme Court has adjourned the Prime Minister’s application to next week. Prime Minister Peter O'Neill filed an urgent appeal at the Supreme Court this morning challenging the recent National Court decision that dismissed OM’s bid to stop a warrant of arrest against him.
Mr O'Neill's lawyer Tiffany Twivey Nonggorr presented the application before single Supreme Court Judge, Justice Allan David at the Waigani Supreme Court this afternoon. PM’s application was adjourned to July 10th.
Justice David said he was not going to hear the matter as he wanted to adjourn it to next week so to give the parties enough time to prepare arguments and file submissions and then it would be heard by the 3-men bench. There won’t be any arrests till the matter returns to court next week.
