Supreme Court orders Attorney General Ano Pala to provide evidence

The Supreme Court has ordered Attorney General, Ano Pala, to provide new evidences he has on the Paul Paraka issue.
He was summoned today and appeared in person with his lawyer, before a three-man bench.
One of the judges was absent, as she was in Lae presiding over other matters.
On Tuesday Mr Pala issued a media statement claiming new evidences that showed there is nothing illegal about the millions of kina paid by the State to the private law firm.
The judge told him to provide these evidences for the court to decide whether a contempt of court judge can be slapped on him.
Judge Ambang Kandakasi said his statements published on the Tuesday's front page edition of the National Newspaper's are very serious, and there needs to be proof of those.
Attempts by his lawyer to adjourn the case to next week was refused.
The case is adjourned to tomorrow morning.
