PNG Hunters coach retains winning side against Souths Logan Magpies

Coach Michael Marum and his SP PNG Hunters will looking to set a record for the best run in their two-year existence when they host Souths Logan Magpies at the Sir John Guise Stadium in their Round 14 match this Saturday.
After winning six games in a row, the SP Hunters have the opportunity to extend that to seven-straight wins when the PNG side plays in front of what is expected to be the biggest crowd to date since the inception of the team.
The Hunters’ home games have been played at the Kalabond Oval since last year as that was the best venue available in the country ticking the boxes in standards required by the Queensland Rugby League, owners of the Intrust Super Cup competition.
But the opportunity for a home game in Port Moresby presented itself when the invitation from the Pacific Games Organising Committee wanted a big event to test out the facilities in preparation for the July 4 to 18 Pacific Games.
While the event is a test event for the Pacific Games, for the ISC teams it will be a competition proper and no love will be lost as both teams do battle for the two premiership points on offer.
Tickets for the game will start selling at Stop-N-Shop outlets in Port Moresby on Thursday and fans are being advised that no tickets will be sold at gates which will open at 4pm in time for the 7pm kick-off. Tickets will be sold at K25 for outer stands and K35 for the grandstand.
Additional game day entertainment includes a performance by local group Jokema.
Coach Marum has retained the side that toppled Ipswich Jets 40-28 in Kokopo last Sunday as they face a Souths Logan Magpies side that has two Kumuls Josh Damen and Matt Trnka.
