Malaoro Supermarket Fire Investigations to start
PNG Fire Service NCD Chief Superintendent Commander Akia Koia says investigations into the fire which burned down the Malaoro Supermarket in Port Moresby last Friday will begin on Wednesday this week.
Mr Koia revealed that there will be two investigations which will be conducted simultaneously, an independent investigation which will be done by PNG Fire Service and an Insurance investigation which will be conducted by an insurance company engaged to the supermarket.
"Overseas forensic scientists will arrive tomorrow I will personally be conducting interviews with employees of the supermarket on Wednesday," said Chief Koia.
"I ould like to also thank the police for their continued support and assistance especially during last Friday’s incident with the supermarket we look forward to working more closely with the Police."
Meanwhile, the smouldering ashes of the once Malaoro Supermarket smoke still rising, is a health concern and market goers venders and opportunists are warned not to take anything out from the smoldering ashes.
