Three suspected rapists flown to Port Moresby, Police begin investigations

The three suspects who allegedly to have raped and tortured American and British tourists along Kokoda trek were flown by helicopter to Port Moresby under Police escort yesterday.
They are currently undergoing interrogation with a police investigation team according to Central Provincial Police commander Laimo Asi. If they are found guilty, they will be arrested and charged for deprivation, abduction, wounding and rape.
Furthermore the suspects would possibly face attempted murder charges depending on the investigation.
Meanwhile PNG Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry was furious with both incidents saying the reports spoil Papua New Guinea’s drive to market the country as an investment destination to investors.
He label the rapists involved Kokoda rape incidents as “animals”.
