University selection unfair : Basil
The selection process used by Department of Higher Education has been questioned . Many students, parents and sponsors have raised concerns who have missed out on Tertiary Studies, despite achieving the required GPA.
Deputy Opposition Leader, Sam BASIL has come on board to question why concerned authorities and stakeholders have not taken heed of with the view of resolving it before every school year begins. He says it is a system that is UNFAIR and denies young Papua New Guinean elites who could be the answer to a better PNG in future. “The tuition Free Education Policy adopted by the O'NEILL/Dion Government in its current form, is not well thought-out, rather a hasty and cheap political stunt that fails to take stock of such dilemma besides others, “ he added.
