72 year old Bubu wins Man of Honour Award 2016
It was a night of celebrating special men and their quiet achievements within their respective communities and from the 15 finalists the night belonged to 72 year old Andrew Tagolaha Bubu winner of PNG’s Digicel Man of Honour Award for 2016.
“Mi gat bikpla hamamas kamap lo disla nite belong wanam disla wok mi mekim ie gat luksave long ol pipol blo mi, this work is 56 years old I started in 1956 and I am just happy that tonight the Digicel Foundation is recognising my work” said Tagolaha Bubu
Andrew Tagolaha Bubu comes from the Niugini Islands and its taken fifty six years of voluntary work of counselling educating youngsters in his village through the local church choir and educates youngster’s thorough music.
Andrew Tagolaha Bubu was recognised as the community education champion and from the 4 Category awards, the Community Ingenuity award went to Vincent Ambane Kumura, Willie Doaemo was recognised with the Community Leadership award, Kevin Edahosi from Miline Bay got the Sporting Mentor Award, and finally the coffee King Goimba Kot was awarded the Community Entrepreneur award.
