EDA RANU won't support Stop Work
Eda Ranu will not participate in the stop work proposed by unions in the next 48 hours and normal services will continue .
This was revealed in a media conference today by the Eda Ranu Management and representatives.
The proposed stop work by unions is in protest of the over the issues currently plaguing the country and supporting calls for the PM Peter O'Neill to step down from his seat.
Eda Ranu CEO Henry Mokono made it clear that they will not part take in any industrial action.
He said as a utility company that supplies the city of Port Moresby with water and also in charge of waste management, they will continue to carry on with normal services.
He said that whatever issued that prompted these unions including PNG Energy Workers Unions, Maritime Union, PNG Ports and National Pilots Association to put off workers off their jobs, Eda Ranu will stand as a state own entity organisation to ensure services proceeds with normalcy.
Meanwhile Mr. Mokono further added that they will be on standby if whatever happens to the main hydro that provides electricity goes off, they will use standby generator systems, to ensure power is restored.
