South Pacific Tourism Goes to London
The South Pacific region’s premier tourism development and marketing body, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is organising a two-day UK Roadshow on 2nd and 3rd November in London, prior to the World Travel Market from 7 to 9 November
Tourism delegations from American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga as well as the Pacific island airline companies Air Calin and Air Niugini will join a team from SPTO in London to showcase what South Pacific tourism has to offer.
An exclusive networking dinner will be held for product managers, tour operators and the media at the Amba Hotel in London on Wednesday November 2nd while Thursday November 3rd will be devoted to showcasing various South Pacific island destinations and their tourism products to travel agencies and tour operators.
The 2016 UK Roadshow aims to:
– promote the South Pacific region’s premier tourism trade event, the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) being held in Sydney, Australia from 19-20 May 2017;
– educate travel agencies on South Pacific island destinations and their tourism products;
– strengthen working relationships with key industry partners in the United Kingdom; and
– raise awareness of SPTO’s South Pacific Specialist programme, an online training platform designed to educate and certify travel agents to become experts on the various tourism products and services that are available throughout the South Pacific.
The 2016 SPTO UK Roadshow is being organised by Destination Representation. The total number of visitors arrivals from the United Kingdom to the South Pacific was 14,181 for the period January to June 2016.
