Madang investigations pending response from Governor Yama
Investigations into the Madang conflict resulting in the deaths of four youths will not proceed yet.
Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Ben Neneo said the investigations have not commenced awaiting response from Governor Peter Yama who requested to see a petition filed by locals before investigations can commence.
PPC Neneo said the petition by locals is in regards to the death of the four youths shot at by police during the unrest and the allegations of harassment by settlers.
Neneo also said that allegations of the motive surrounding the death of the Bau Primary School teacher must be reported to police.
He said no suspects have been identified yet but people with such information need to come forward and report to police.
Meantime, ACP Northern Command Peter Guinis has called on local leaders for a total co-operation when investigation commences.PNGFM
