Pomio District to Benefit from A Level - 4 District Hospital
The Pomio district hospital under construction at Palmalmal in East New Britain is progressing well under the guidance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) project management team.
This was from Pomio MP Elias Kapavore.
Elias Kapavore says there has been a lot of criticisms surrounding the progress of this massive project which cost around K40 million and will cater for a level 4 district hospital and 36 staff houses.
Mr Kapavore reminded people that the project is the first in the country, funded by the ADB and its progress is guided by the financier, with support from the Pomio District Development Authority.
The district has no control over how fast the project can be completed because it’s not funded under the District Service Improvement Program (DSIP), nor other district grants.
He says by the 21st of this month, shipment of materials should arrive at Palmalmal for the construction of the 36 staff houses.
