WARRING TRIBES TO END 40YRS WARFARE

After 40years of tribal warfare, two of the major traditional warring tribes in the Nebilyer valley of Western Highlands province are now into negotiations to sign formal peace agreements.

The tribes known as Kulga and Ulga are now having talks to sign the peace agreements based on the bible, promising God not to fight, paying compensations and will build two peace foundation projects (community justice centres).

Coordinator for the Kulga for Jesus Association Pastor Amos Melpa told Legendfm news that 2014 is an important year for them as they look forward to bury their dark history in Nebilyer and set up a precedent for them and their future children to follow.

Pastor Amos further stated that despite the loss of hundreds of human lives, destruction of schools, government stations, roads and clinics etc, the tide is certainly turning around and they are looking at a positive change in the Nebilyer valley.
