PNG Hunters thrash Tweed Heads Seagulls 38 - 10


The Papua New Guinea Hunters have registered their third win in the round 4 of the Intrust Super Cup by beating  Tweed Heads Seagulls 38 - 10 at the Kalabond stadium in Kokopo today.

This is the Hunters third win in the Intrust Super Cup competition this year. They only  lost to East Tigers last week.

The home side showed no mercy for the visiting team and were on fire scoring six unanswered tries in the first half through Wartovo Puara, Kato Otio, Stargoth Amean, Ase Boas and Oti Bland Tony.

The half time score was 34 - 0 in favour of the home team.

In the second half, the Seagulls regrouped  came out firing at the Hunters defence. They scored their first try of the  afternoon through Hami Mullen in the 50th minute of the game. Jamal Forgarty converted taking the score to 34-6.

The visitors were quick to score their second try in the corner through Kalifa Faifai Loa but an unsuccessful conversion had them trailing 34-10 nineteen minutes into the second half.

The Hunters responded through Boas who scored his third try ten minutes to full time and halfback Roger Laka converted all tries.

Hunters won 38 - 10 at full time.
