PNG Government announces K25m for 40th Independence Anniversary celebrations
The PNG Government has announced 25 million Kina funding for the country's 40th Independence Anniversary celebrations nationwide.
Minister for Sports and National Events Justine Tkatchenko announced this when he officially launch the 40th Independence logo at the Parliament's State Function Room last night.
Out of the 25 million kina, 10 million kina will be equally shared between NCDC and National Events Council for Port Moresby celebrations.
All MP's will receive 0ne- Hundred Thousand Kina each for their respective district celebrations, whilst Provincial Governors of three main centres which includes Morobe, East New Britain and Western Highlands will get Five-Hundred Thousand Kina each as these provinces are the main centres for each regions Independence celebration.
The 25 Million kina budget is upon National Events Council request.
