Philippine Airlines to launch PNG Route in October
The Philippine Airlines will launch its direct service to Papua New Guinea in October this year.
The Philippine Flight Network reports, the national flag carrier will launch its direct flight between Manila and Port Moresby on October 25th.
It reports, the flights will be made on Fridays and Sundays, departing Manila at 2.10am arriving at Port Moresby's Jackson International Airport at 9.20am.
The flights departs Port Moresby at 10.10am and arrives in Manila at 1.20pm.
The schedule is designed to enable passengers to connect onward to either domestic or international flights operated by Philippine Airlines.
Philippine Airlines President, Jaime Bautista, says an increase in business travel between the two countries served as the basis to launch the new route.
PNG's Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Richard Maru, is quoted to have said the new flights are expected to provide competition and reduce airfares to increase tourism and business travel.
