National Football Stadiums is now home of SP PNG Hunters
The SP PNG Hunters will have the luxury of calling the new National Football Stadium home for the 2016 year.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Hunters Board Mr Graham Osborne in the presence of Minister for Sports and Tourism Justin Tkatchenko and members of the NFS Board of Trustees.
“I am happy announce that the National Football Stadium will be the home of the SP PNG Hunters for one year with the agreement subject to change or extend next year,” says Mr Osborne.
Hunters coach Michael Marum and the players were briefed about this announcement last night during dinner and the boys are very excited about this arrangement.
Marum showed no excitement but was pleased that they have been given the luxury to use the new stadium.
“We’ve played on many fields and stadiums in the Queensland Cup but our new stadium is by far one of the best and we are happy to call it our home ground and will certainly be a boost for the boys,” says Coach Marum.
Meanwhile Minister Tkatchenko said that this is a great day for rugby league in the country while he challenged the NFS Trustee that they have a big task ahead in terms of managing the stadium but has good faith that they will get the job done.
