Solomon Islands PM arrives in Port Moresby for talks on MSG
The Prime Minister for Solomon Islands touched down in Port Moresby's Jacksons International Airport today.
In a briefing with local media, Prime Minister Manase Sogavare said that his short visit to PNG was to discuss with PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neil as well as Ministers on issues relation to the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).
As the Chairman for MSG, Mr Sogavare says he will be talking with the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill on budget for the MSG meetings, inclusion of the West Papua in the MSG, appointment of a new Director General for MSG as well as other issues of concern.
The SI PM is accompanied by his wife Mrs Emmy Sogavare and 7 other delegates.
He met with the PNG Foreign Minister this afternoon and then meet with the PM Peter O'Neill tomorrow.
Mr Sogavare and his delegates were received at the airport today by Minister for Sports & Tourism Justine Tketchenko, Chief Protocol More Veratau and Acting Secretary for Department of Foreign Affairs William Dhim. PNGFM
