Heavy flooding cut off Lae's NADZAB Airport
The 11 mile section of the Highlands Highway in Morobe province is cut off due to the heavy flooding last night that washed off a culvert and the portion of the road that was attached with the culvert.
Traffic on both sides came to stand still on Saturday morning and a temporary bridge has been put up for people who wish to do urgent runs to Lae.
Governor Kelly Naru has urged the general public not to take the 11 mile route until a proper bridge or culvert is put across.
The road is expected to be fixed by today as the Department of Works is already on ground.
