Don Bosco Technological Institute donates 163 bags of life-saving blood
The Don Bosco Technological Institute (BDTI) has donated 163 bags of life-saving blood to Port Moresby General Hospital over three full days this week.
The hospital management on behalf of the Port Moresby General Hospital and the Youth Blood Drive team, has thanked the Institute for your commitment to the Youth Blood Drive. These blood donations will save many lives and help many ill patients at Port Moresby General Hospital. We couldn’t do this without your dedication and support.
DBTI nurse Eva R. Lopez said the institute was happy to be part of the Youth Blood Drive program which is teaching our young people the health benefits of donating blood for the recipient and the donor in hopes of creating a generation of regular blood donors. “We always educate and encourage our students to take part in such initiatives to become blood donors to help others in need of blood."
Elvis Peter studying a computer-technology course at DBTI was proud to be a regular blood donor and encourages all young people to get involved; you never know when you or someone you love will be in need of life-saving blood. “I became a donor after being inspired by someone who donated and saved my grandfather who urgently needed a blood transfusion,” Elvis said.
