Denzel Washington enjoys Golden Globes family night

Denzel Washington brought a very special date to the Golden Globes Sunday night, but she was definitely unexpected. Before beginning their interview on Sunday night's red carpet, Denzel advised E!'s Ryan Seacrest, "It's not my wife Pauletta, it's my daughter."

Washington's daughter, Olivia -- who has rarely been seen and photographed at events -- accompanied him to the ceremony. She filled in for his normal date -- his wife of 29 years, Pauletta. 22-year-old Olivia is one of Denzel and Pauletta's four children, John David, Katia, and her twin brother, Malcolm.

Denzel's introduction saved Seacrest from an awkward mistake, as mystery dates have perplexed interviewers in the past. The worst mishap was probably the moment Joan Rivers confused Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins' then-wife, Jennifer Lynton, for his mother on an awards red carpet in the past. Yahoo news
