Parkop firm on installing security cameras

He was responding to NCD Metropolitan commander Supt Peter Guinness who described the use of CCTV cameras as unconstitutional and of little help.
Guinness voiced concerns over multinational security giant, G4S guards being used and who could overstep authorised police duties while engaged in the exercise.
But Parkop said he was looking forward to meeting Guinness to discuss their concerns.
“But we are adamant that it must be used as part of improving security in the city,” he said.
“It has been proven to be an effective tool in reducing opportunity and street crime so we must do all we can to ensure it is installed in as many parts of the city as possible and that whatever legal obstacle exists in terms of preventing the usage of the information in court, this must be overcome,” Parkop said.
He said G4S was singled out for the proposal because of its ongoing cooperation through the Safe City Programme Meri Safe House. The National
