Correctional services officers on the ground at Laloki Central Province confirmed the hostage was released on Wednesday and now in police custody.

NCD metropolitan superintendent Andy Bawa also confirmed this news.

It is believed the two criminals released the hostage once they reached the Laloki River to Nazareth area and most likely are now within the city’s vicinity.

Some police and correctional services officers have been dispatched to man the city and the Maghi highway.

Commissioner Balthazar said the hostage guided the criminals through tracks in the Laloki area. He is undergoing interview and will assist police and correctional services.

On the run are; William Nanua Kapis and Raphael Walimini. The third, Michael Warangu has been killed.

Meantime, regular road checks continue. The general public have been urged to report any sighting.

Police and correctional services officers have orders to shoot to kill the escapees. EMTV News
