O'neill visits Isreali Defence Aerospace Industry

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and the PNG delegation were given a first hand tour of the key defence establishments at the Israeli Aerospace industry yesterday.
They were briefed on the Israeli Missile Defence and Attack capabilities from a 3-D presentation.
This presentation showed how the Israeli Defence Force response to enemy missile attacks, and how it launches offensive to neutralize threats against it.
There were also presentation on how some of their products could be used to secure the P-N-G-Indonesian Border from illegal activities, effective surveillance of PNG's 200 mile Exclusive Economic Zone, monitor against illegal logging and illegal mining practices and securing the vital L-N-G Project.
Prime Minister O' Neil told the Israeli officials that PNG is in the process of rebuilding the Papua New Guinea Defence Force, and though not as advanced as Israel, it's determined to build up the capability of the Defence Force, using some of Israeli products that is tailored to PNG's needs.
Isreali Aerospace Industry is a leading aerospace company, fully owned by the government while its main client is the Israeli Defence Force, 80 percent of the sale of its technology is to overseas clients.
Prime Minister Peter O'Neill also visited the Israel Military Industry, where young people are given rigorous training in counter-terrorism, VIP protection, and national intelligence.
The delegation, today, will visit the counter-terrorism institute, with an aim to sending Papua New Guineans for training in such facilities, to prepare for the 2018 APEC Summit.
Mr O’Neil is also expected to sign the defence cooperation agreement with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu.
