Northern Pride beat PNG Hunters 34 - 18
SP PNG Hunters suffered their first loss of the season against an impressive Northern Pride outfit 34 to 18. Pride executed the game plan extremely well in front of a huge crowd.
The Hunters were first to cross over the line through David Loko. Pride fought back and equalized the score in the 26th minute. Brilliant work by Pride half back put them ahead on the 30th minute and led 12 points to 6. Hunters fought back right on half time to level the score at 12 all.
In the second half, Pride executed their game plan well and kept Hunters under enormous pressure. Pride scored two tries to extend their lead to 24 - 12 points in the last quarter of the game. The Hunters fought back on the 70th minutes to reduce the deficit to 24 points to 18. However, Pride were the better team of the day and put two tries to sealed the game 34 points to 18.
The Hunters players will regroup for next weekend away clash against the East Tigers.
