Namah to take National Issues to the streets
The Opposition will be taking national issues to the streets of Papua New Guinea.
Opposition Leader, Belden Namah, has accused the media for siding with Peter O’Neill.
In a media conference this afternoon, the opposition leader said the media is not reporting on issues raised by the opposition.
He said failure by the media leaves him no option, but to hold public awareness forums around the country.
Starting next week, the Opposition will hit the streets of Papua New Guinea ,informing the public about matters concerning corruption in the country.
The Opposition leader says this is because, the main stream media has reported on national issues raised by the Opposition.
The Opposition is questioning the fairness and balance in the media on its reporting.
This comes after the opposition last week, came out with documents relating to the payment of 2 turbo generators for PNG Power costing K50 million.
Namah said despite him providing evidence, the media failed to report on this.
Mr.Namah also responded to a question about whether or not he will be seeking permission from police to carry out this public awareness.
“I do not need to get permission from police, all I have to do is go to peace and good order committee to get permission,” said Mr.Namah.
In recent times, the Prime Minister threatened to sue certain media organisations when stories on Namah’s accusations were reported.
