PNG Prime Minister Peter O'neill faces arrest
A warrent of arrest has been served on Prime Minister Peter O'neill for his arrest this morning. The warrent of arrest was served by Deputy Police Commisioner Simon Kauba. O'neill has accepted the documents and told police that he will cooperate in their investigation. This is in relation to the fraud case involving the prominent lawyer Paul Paraka.

At midday today journalists and police from the fraud squad were gathered at the Fraud Headquarters. It is believed that PM O’Neill was to be taking in for questioning.
While the wait continues, sources close to the police revealed that the warrant of arrest has always been there but it was being suppressed due to the politics within the police force.
Most city residents are not aware of what is happening but as the hour goes by the news is spreading like wild fire. It is also understood the PM’s office is trying to take out a stay order prevent his arrest.
