PNG Hunters bury Burleigh Bears 56 - 12

PNG Hunters try scoring machine Gerry Lo runs for the tryline.
The PNG Hunters  wreak havoc  Burleigh Bears with a 56 - 12 romping win at the "Graveyard' in Kokopo.

The Hunters shut out the Bears  with a  36 - 0 half time lead. The Hunters took advantage of the wet conditions that caused the Bears more handling errors and scored 6 tries.

The Bears  struggled to match the pace of the Hunters who  scored on every opportunity given.

Hunters were first to score through forward David Loko in the 6th minute following a good attacking raid on the left hand side. Adam Korave scored on the same side in the 13th minute.

Several minutes later, Wartovo Puara Jnr, scored from his own grubber after a raid on the Bears try line.

The left side proved fruitful once more as they score again in the 25th and 29th minute with Thompson Tete and Korave with his second.

Gary Lo  crossed over for his 20th try of the season after some expansive play by the Hunters.

Hunters started the second half well with a try from try scoring machine, Garry Lo.   However, the Bears fought back on the 60th minutes to score two tries consecutively to trail  42 - 12.  These were the two last tries for the Bears as Hunters muscled up with more tries in last quarter of the game.  The Hunters sealed the game with 56 - 12 at full time.

Captain Israel Eliab  was sensational with the conversions.

The Hunters will play another home game next week at the same ground.
