PNG Hunters bury Souths Logan Magpies

The PNG Hunters defeated South Logan Magpies today to keep their run for final hopes alive  with a thrashing of 44- 14 in Brisbane today.

The Hunters were determined to win this game after their defeat last week from Manly Seagulls and built early momentum in the first half to shut out the Magpies.  The Hunters Gary Lo dashed away to score his 24th try of the season to continue the assault on the Magpies.

The Hunters continued to press on forcing two more line drop outs which eventually led to another try through utility player Noel Zemming.

From this point on, the Hunters stepped on the gas scoring three more tries though Sebastian Pandia, Albert Patak who grabbed his second for the afternoon.

The Magpies were good enough to run in two late tries to bring some respectability to the score line.

The win for the Hunters moves them up to 31 points on sixth place. With a bye next weekend, the Hunters are now banking on the 11th placed Redcliffe Dolphins to cause an upset over Ipswich Jets (32 points) for them to slip back in to the top five.

This was the Hunters last game of the season as they have a bye next week.
