PNG Government to build six thousand houses for Police

Minister Robert Atiyafa said, the Police Department will build 6-thousand houses for its officers across the country.

Mr. Atiyafa told Parliament today, the department considers housing as the biggest ongoing issue within the Constabulary.

Responding to questions by Nuku MP Joe Sungi, Mr Atiyafa said other issues will be considered once police officers are housed well.

He said respective governors must allocate land for houses to be built in their provinces.

Mr Atiyafa is expected to deliver a statement later this week on developments, plans and challenges faced by the force in the country.
