Tapo calls on education authorities to monitor Grade 8, 10 and 12 Examinations

Education Secretary, Michael Tapo is calling on all stakeholders, including provincial education authorities, Standard Officers, school head teachers and school principals  to monitor 2014 Grade 8, 10 and 12 Examinations. Tapo say "past experience has revealed that there has been instance of cheating in several schools in provinces. Moreover instances of Examinations being sold on the street to the public has also become  a grave  concern.  This  has  come about due to poor monitoring of the examinations.

To enable us to ensure that all Examinations are well conducted this year and onwards, I am directing all Senior Standards Officers and Standard Officers in all provinces to be fully and actively involved to assist the Provincial Education Advisors and Provincial Examination Supervisors with the monitoring of the School External Examinations".

All Senior Standard Officers and Standard Officers are hereby directed to take heed of the direction and to work together with the Provincial Education Teams/ District Education Teams to ensure  that  all  Examinations  are conducted transparently without any disruption.

Senior Standard Officers and Standard Of:Steers are reminded to immediately report problems or discrepancies related to Examinations to the Provincial Education Advisors and the Measurement Services Branch without delay.

We seek your total support and co—operation to ensure that this year’s Examinations is well monitored.

Grade 8, 10 and 12  examinations begins next week. Grade 10 examinations start next week and will go on for two weeks. Grade 12 exams will follow after Grade 10 and Grade 8 exams will be after Grade 12.
